#KCSTI 2015, Day 14: #UMKC School of Computing & Engineering and Aviation Technical Services at the #KC International #Airport
July 2, 2015: The day began with a tour of the UMKC School of Computing and Engineering, given by academic advisor, Micah Hildreth. Following the tour, Dr. Bob Riggs, UMKC Physics professor, presented a hands-on demo highlighting some of the subjects he covers in his physics courses, such as forces, pressure, and magnetics.
Later in the afternoon, KCSTI students continued their journey exploring career opportunities in the aviation industry. The students saw firsthand the incredible work aviation technicians do at Aviation Technical Services, a company that moved into the Kansas City International Airport (MCI) last year. They saw how Boeing’s 737 is maintained to continue serving thousands of people. The students’ tour guide, Jay Terrell, was very helpful and answered all questions the students had about the aircraft. What an incredible end to Week 3!2015, airport, Aviation, Aviation Technical Services, Computing, engineering, KC, KCSTI, Physics, School of Computing & Engineering, UMKC
