#KCSTI Day 12: KC Street Car and the Federal Highway Administration
June 30, 2015. Students were given a tour of the KC Streetcar production site. We began the tour at Union Station, where Ralph Davis, Assistant Director of KCMO Public Works, provided a brief presentation as well as showed us the rail alignment up close. We continued down the alignment to the River Market area and ended up at the maintenance building where the four street cars will be kept after construction.
After lunch, we had guest speakers from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Kevin Irving presented on highway safety and Lauren Paulwell taught us the meaning of P.I.E. (Performance, Image and Exposure).
Students finished up their RooBuilders truss project. Great job 2015 KCSTI Participants!construction, Federal Highway Administration, FHWA, highway safety, Kansas City, KC, KC Streetcar, KCMO Public Works, KCSTI, River Market, Union Station
